Cabell and Shirley Brand and SEEDS Student Fellowship and Mini-Grant Fund

To provide grants of fellowships to high school and college students on an annual or more frequent basis. The fellowships will be designed to encourage and facilitate study, research and development of solutions to social and environmental issues such as recycling, education, hunger, land use, homelessness, biodiversity, and health care in Southwest Virginia, including but not limited to VA Vital Signs Region. Eligible recipients from 18-30 years of age.

Children's Trust

The Children's Advocacy Center of the New River Valley aims to provide children with a safe place to share their experiences in their own words with experts who will listen to them, protect them, and help them heal.

Chris Dudley Scholarship Fund

Created in memory of Chris Dudley, this endowed fund provides scholarships to graduating seniors from Blacksburg High School who have strong leadership skills.

Citizens Scholarship Fund

The purpose of the Fund is to provide scholarships to graduating seniors from Floyd County, Virginia, and additional jurisdictions served by Citizens, to attend any 2 or 4-year college, university, trade or technical school.

Claytor Lake State Park Ambassadors

The Claytor Lake State Park Ambassadors group helps conserve the park's natural, cultural, scenic and recreational resources. The group also promotes environmental stewardship and lends a hand with various recreational and educational activities.

College Mentors for Kids at Virginia Tech and Radford University

Mentoring transforms lives! College Mentors for Kids connects kids to college students through weekly on-campus activities that inspire growth, confidence, and brighter futures.

We currently have two chapters in the New River Valley serving nearly 200 kids from Belview, Kipps, Margaret Beeks, Eastern Montgomery, and Price’s Fork Elementary Schools with a college student mentor at Virginia Tech and Radford University.
