The first years of our children's lives are critical to their ability to succeed in school and as adults. Too many NRV parents struggle to find good quality, affordable childcare or to get the help they need to give their children a happy, healthy home. This isn't just a problem for families, it affects the ability of local employers to attract and retain talented workers. We need to strengthen the entire network of programs serving children and families, and we need your help.
Our Progress to Date:
Worked with VT researchers to conduct the Early Childhood Education and Development Network Study to understand how nonprofit childcare centers, social service programs, public schools, and afterschool programs currently work together and how CFNRV funding could strengthen those relationships to benefit children and families.
Worked with these organizations to develop priority goals to support early education including:
1) Creating an information hub for agencies to share resources with one another and with families
2) Developing shared messages and marketing materials so all agencies speak with a common voice about the importance of early childhood
3) Growing and strengthening the early childhood workforce through professional development, recognition, and increased compensation
