Montgomery County Emergency Assistance Program

$5,110.00 contributions
45 donors

Raised: $5110Remaining: $4890

The Montgomery County Emergency Assistance Program (MCEAP) assists families and individuals in immediate, temporary, and emergency situations. Our efforts are coordinated with the major local social service agencies and with area civic and religious groups in serving those who do not qualify for other public assistance or have exhausted their benefits.

100% of contributions go directly to client services. MCEAP has zero administrative expenses and is fully volunteer and donor supported.

Services Provided:

Financial Assistance: A financial fund is available to give limited help in areas such as rent, utilities, and heat.

Food Bank: The Food Bank is located at the NRCA office and can assist in providing emergency food.
As Summer approaches there is an increased need to provide food for children.

Thrift Store & Clothing Bank:

The Thrift Store & Clothing Bank is located at 308 W. Main Street in Christiansburg. It is open on Monday, Wednesday, and Friday mornings from 9 AM -2PM and on Saturdays from 9 AM - 2 PM. Donations of clean usable clothing are welcome.

100% of all contributions directly support these services.
Due to increase in need, we recently had to purchase a larger building. The sooner we pay off the building, the more services we are able to provide. Consider a recurring monthly or  quarterly donation to support the Thirft Store Building Fund.
MCEAP has been pleased to work with the following organizations:

New River Community Action

American Red Cross
Virginia Cares
New River Valley Community Services Board
Community Health Center of the New River Valley
Montgomery County Christmas Store
Montgomery County Health Department
New River Family Shelter
