PERC - Pulaski early Educators Rewards for Credentials
Raising Early Education to New Heights
What PERC Is . . . and Why You Want to Donate!
PERC, initiative launched in 2019, provides financial rewards for early education credentials for teachers at our two childcare centers in Pulaski (Building Bridges and the YMCA). The more advanced the credentials, the greater the reward – a proven strategy for “powering up the profession,” improving quality of early childhood education, and increasing retention of teachers. PERC’s funding goal for the 2-year pilot strategy is $40,000. GiveBigNRV is your chance to help us move significantly toward our goal! PERC is a project of ABCs in partnership with Virginia Quality.
Why You Want to Donate to PERC:
- Early Education Teachers play a crucial role in the development of the young child, and
the higher the quality early childhood education, the more successful the child will be in
school and life. PERC helps our teachers stay in the profession and provides incentives
for professional development. See what a difference you can make here.
- You Are a Stakeholder! No matter your relationship to the Pulaski community, you have a
stake in our early educators. Check out these “not your usual suspects” stakeholders’
statements about the value of quality childcare. Research shows a ROI of up to 13:1 for
investments in quality early childhood education.
- Did you know that 27% of the children in Pulaski County arrive at Kindergarten unprepared
to succeed? High quality early education means more children arrive at kindergarten ready
to learn. PERC helps our children arrive at school ready for school – and for life.
