Organizations throughout the NRV are holding events during the 5th Annual GiveBigNRV Giving Day. Information about each event is listed below and new events are being added regularly. Please check back as more organizations are organizing events for April 18th:

Blue Mountain School- Earth Day & Open House

Blue Mountain School invites you to join us on Wednesday as we Celebrate Earth Day with an open house, egg hunt, and community dinner. You'll have the opportunity to peek in classrooms, speak with teachers, and learn about our summer camps and Forest Kindergarten program. And there will be plenty of time to chat with friends old and new while you fill your belly with a delicious dinner!
Instill Mindfulness- A Feast for the Senses

Instill Mindfulness is holding A Feast for the Senses, a three-course fundraising dinner at Oddf3llows featuring delights to taste, touch, hear, smell, and see. That's right, over the course of the meal they'll be encouraging you to do each of those things, to make this a truly mindful meal! There'll be plenty of prizes, and you'll receive a complimentary drink!
Plenty- Community Lunch

Plenty will be holding a Community Lunch with free food and live music. Onsite donations, in support of Plenty’s programs, are most welcome.
Springhouse Community School- Bingo Night
6-8 pm Wednesday, April 18th
88 Eco Village Trail SE, Floyd
Please join the Springhouse community for their 2nd annual BINGO NIGHT! Your participation will support our teens, and you could leave with one of the varieties of prizes donated from local businesses. Grand prizes include 2 tickets to YogaJam and a weekend stay at a local Air B&B. There will be an initial buy-in of $10 for 5 cards. Every additional card will be $1. All bingo card sales will benefit Springhouse's financial aid fund.
Blacksburg Chinese School- Open House

Community Foundation- Fund for the NRV GiveBig Kickoff 2018
5-7pm April 17th
The Alexander Black House, 204 Draper Rd SW, Blacksburg
We're kicking off the 5th Annual GiveBigNRV Giving Day with a fundraiser for The Fund for the NRV, which makes the giving day and all the CFNRV's programs possible. National Bank and an anonymous donor are matching up to $10,000 in contributions to The Fund for the NRV made for the giving day. To get you in the giving mood, we're holding a reception at The Alexander Black House with wine from The Vintage Cellar and food from Bottom of the Stairs! No RSVP required. Stop in for some food and drink and make your contribution to The Fund for the NRV!
Children’s Museum of Blacksburg- Power Play Luncheon

Join the Children's Museum of Blacksburg to celebrate the power of play!Play is essential to the cognitive, physical, social, and emotional development of children, and creates the foundation for a lifelong love of learning. The Power of Play luncheon will promote the importance of early childhood education and play in the development of young children, and the role of the Children's Museum of Blacksburg in equipping and empowering kids and families throughout the New River Valley to play!
Montgomery County Emergency Assistance Program- Thrift Store Open House
9:00 am-6:00 pm Wednesday, April 18
110 Roanoke St, Christiansburg
MCEAP Thrift Store & More Open House is as part ofGIVE BIG NRV. And what a day it will be! Stop by between the hours of 9:00 am-6:00 pm for some Ben & Jerry’s ice cream and shop all the great sales! We will be set up to take GIVE BIG donations on-site. Hope to see you there!
Montgomery County Museum- Traditional Southern Treats
10:00 am-5:00 pm, Wednesday, April 18
300 South Pepper Street, Christiansburg
Join the museum for Sweet Tea and Pound Cake on GiveBigNRV. While you are there come view a copy of Marion Campbell Tyree’s community cookbook Housekeeping in Old Virginia now on exhibit. They will be giving away recipe cards with the famous sweet tea recipe, peach conserves and more!
Pulaski Community Youth Center- Pie Challenge and Family Night
9 am- 8 pm, Wednesday, April 18
6671 Riverlawn Court, Fairlawn
The GiveBigNRV Event Day is going to be huge at Pulaski Community Youth Center. Our challenge for the day will be to PIE A COMMUNITY LEADER. $500 in donations during the time slot will = a PIE IN THE FACE!

Wednesday evening 6-8pm we will be opening our doors for folks to come in and make their donations in person. Hotdogs, chips, and drinks will be provided, the gym and recreations areas will be open to the public. For each person that donates a minimum of $10.00 in person between 6-8pm, your name will be placed in a drawing for some great prizes. Don't miss out on this fun day and a great opportunity to raise funds for Pulaski Community Youth Center.
YMCA of Pulaski County

Take a lunch break and drop by the Pulaski Y for some light refreshments to celebrate the Giving Day. Onsite donations of cash, checks or credit in support of the Pulaski Y are welcome.
Feeding America SWVA
Dine tonight at Sharkey's in Radford and 15% of the proceeds from your dinner will go to support Feeding America SWVA.
